First Ride
In 1968, after a lifetime as a painter, J. Seward Johnson, Jr., turned his talents to the medium of sculpture. Since then, more than 200 of Johnson's life-size cast bronze figures have been featured in private collections in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia, as well as prominent places in the public realm. Each of his sculptures is entirely bronze.Johnson is known for his life-size bronze statues, which actually are castings of living people of all ages depicting them engaged in day-to-day activities.
