Lentil

Picture
In a 1940’s children's book by Hamilton Native, Robert McCloskey, Lentil marches through town, his harmonica and dog in tow. Nancy Schon, creator of the 'Make Way for Ducklings' sculpture in Boston, was commissioned to create the life-size replica of Lentil and his dog. The Lane Library held a contest to name the dog, who remained nameless in the book. After the contest involving community school children, Lentil's dog finally was given the name Harmony.
