Sherry Corbett Memorial Sculpture

This sculpture has been placed in honor of Dr. Sherry Lee Corbett (1946-2002) by The City of Sculpture Inc. and The Dayton Lane Historic Area Inc. for her tireless commitment to restoration efforts in Hamilton, Ohio. She founded the Dayton Lane Historic District, and over a twenty year period, led the restoration of seventeen neglected properties into significant historic landmark residential properties in the District.
Sherry was a State of Ohio delegate to the National Trust for Historic Preservation and led the effort to save the Mercantile Lofts Building from demolition.
Sherry was named Hamilton, Ohio Citizen of the Year in 1994.
Sherry was a beloved Miami University Professor in the Department of Sociology and Gerontology and will be remembered by her students, colleagues, neighbors, family and friends for her personal and civic impact on our community.
