January 1921 raid. Three were arrested but when the court dates came all three had alibis and acquired. The U.S. District attorney scolded the officers and said in the future a first hand evidence must be secured.
In June 1921 a police officer from Hamilton named Ernst Clark, known as red, was part of a gang of 3 men from Hamilton who attempted a hijack of a grain alcohol truck in Cleves Ohio. The men were part of a 40 man gang from Hamilton. The truck was stopped but the driver restarted the vehicle and tried to get away. Over 50 shots were fired. Needless to say the driver didn’t survive but the hijackers left the truck and booze sit.
A Cleves Marshall rounded up a posse of 250 men and flushed out the three hijackers. Clark was convicted of first degree murder and given mercy and his sentence was life in prison. He served 7 years.

A August 1921 by state and federal agents arrested 40 people. The agents stated that Hamilton was the wettest place they’ve seen. All 40 arrested plead guilty due to irrefutable evidence.
